To hold the thread, to hold a thread, to hold up, to hold between, to hold hands, to hold together…
teNir (to hoLd) is a dialogue between a hollow cube, a dancer, and threads.
A black, empty cube. Spools of thread and yarn spread inside, around, and near the audience.
A dancer, but also a weaver and visual artist.
She stretches, pulls, searches, ties, unrolls, untangles.
The thread travels from one point to another, forming a knot, a corner, linking one to the next, until a web begins to take shape inside the cube. The web fills the cube, occupying it, crowding it, only to reveal an open, free space within. The body finds a place to curl up: an imprint of itself, a space to linger, a welcoming nest, a small personal corner from which to inhabit the world.
teNir is a performance, an artistic, choreographic, visual, and sensorial gesture.
